About Malaga Airport
Malaga (AGP) Airport, located 8km (5 mi) away from
Malaga, is the fourth most crowded airport in Spain. Its
importance for the tourism of the country is due to the
fact that it is the main international airport for Costa
del Sol. It is also the international airport of
Andalusia, registering in 2010 over 12 million
passengers.
Opened in 1919, it is one of the oldest Spanish airports

airport operates with three terminals, Terminal 3 being
pretty recently created, namely in 2010. It was designed
by the architect Bruce S Fairbanks in order to increase
tourism around Costa del Sol. It features the largest
foot hall in Europe and the first National Geographic

the airport are also taken into consideration, for
instance a new runway, which should be inaugurated by
the end of this year.
